Profile when exporting for printing

I produce my occasional prints by exporting from darktable as 32-bit tiffs, and opening them in GIMP 2.9 then just invoking the print option. For the export options, which profile should I embed in the tiff? sRGB or the profile for my printer/paper combination? Or does it make no difference?

If all the colors in your image fit into the used color space (you can check with the gamut checker in darkroom) it doesn’t make a difference.

OK. And if they don’t? What the best thing to do?

My printer natively supports AdobeRBG, so I use that.

In any case make sure to not use an intermediate color space that is smaller than what your printer supports. With 32bit it’s safe to use a bigger space as banding won’t happen.
