This release contains a fix to work around seriously bad window corruption on certain desktop environments. The fix is to determine whether any monitor has scaling enabled. If not, then scaling is totally disabled in the application, and the problem is solved.

A friendly reminder: it’s really easy to install a development version. Just do this with the install script:
python3 install.py --devel
And it will automatically get the development release. Also, development releases are not necessarily less stable. This is labelled an alpha release merely to get it tested as soon as possible.
@David_LaCivita you will want to test this release. Do not use the system Qt. Install it using the command above.
