Raw Samples Wanted

Carry on then. I forgot to check as @Tobias mentioned. Makes me unable to verify SL2 support for the other thread.

Want to upload the new A7iii files but the raw.pixls.us is not reachable via https. I can ping it though.

Thank you for your (future) contribution! We’ve opened an issue with our sysadmin to rectify the problem. Thanks for reporting! Please try again later.

Sorry about that, was traveling a bit. It should al be in working order again.

Ok, great.

But I do have a few questions.
I own some cameras, therefore one to help the the software I like so much.
What kinda of pictures are yall looking for? Is there any ISO, Lens or anything like that to be used?

Have a look at https://raw.pixls.us/ :

We are looking for shots that are:

* Lens mounted on the camera, cap off
* Image in focus and properly exposed
* Landscape orientation

We are NOT looking for:

* Series of images with different ISO, aperture, shutter, wb, lighting, or different lenses
* DNG files created with Adobe DNG Converter
* Photographs of people, for legal reasons.

It would be easier to discuss this on case-by-case basis.
(i.e which cameras?)

I think i have explained that in the first post.
Just some normal landscape-type image - low iso, normal exposure, no people in the frame.
If there are multiple samples, they should have the same content - taken via tripod.

I have an EOS 80D, an EOS 5D Mark 4 and a Powershot G7X Mark 2. I do not have a color target. I’m still not clear on what sort of files will help you. If there’s something I can help with with my gear, let me know.

Does the G7X shoot raw files? There are already samples for the other two camera you have.

Yes it does. See: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/details/cameras/point-and-shoot/advanced-cameras/powershot-g7-x-mark-ii.

Thank you, but we already have the full sample sets for all these cameras. So no new samples are needed.

Alright. I saw 4 samples listed for the G7X, but only one listed for G7X Mark 2, so I thought you may be missing some from the Mark 2.

Any specification?

Yes, read https://raw.pixls.us, all the information is there, or further up in this thread:

Attached is a RAW file from the new Nikon Z7, I get “failed to read camera white balance information” when I try to open with DTDSC_0005.NEF (62.5 MB)

If you agree with all the stipulations on https://raw.pixls.us, and the Z7 sample isn’t already uploaded, please upload it there. I don’t think DT has Z7 support in the current 2.4.4 release.

https://redmine.darktable.org/issues/12322

There already is a fully complete sample set for that camera.

FYI (although it is offtopic in this thread), that camera is now supported in darktable git master.

[quote=“LebedevRI, post:1, topic:5420, full:true”] We have a list of cameras with non-CC0 sample, so if you happen to have one of the cameras listed there please consider contributing the full raw sample set for us!

I was led to this post from RawTherapee-dot-com.
I see that the request is a year or so old and may have already been fulfilled.
I don’t know how up-to-date the list is, but I did see my camera(s) listed in the non-CCO sample list.
Canon Rebel T3; aka 1100D; aka KISS x50; we have two of them.
I didn’t see a description anywhere; what defines a “full raw sample set”? How many total images ?
I do not have a registered copyright; does this automatically make my images CCO?
Before i ask too many questions, do you still need Canon Rebel T3 images ?
My available lenses are Sigma 18-250mm HSM Macro, and the 18-55mm and 75-300mm that came with the camera, plus a 18-270mm Tamron that has stripped A/F gears (it will still manual focus).
Does the lens used matter?

These things will never be complete

From the https://raw.pixls.us/
up-to-date list of certainly-missing cameras
up-to-date list of non-CC0 samples
Those lists are auto-generated, and are correct.

Yep, the sample for Canon Rebel T3 needs replacing (NOT 1100D).
And the sample for KISS x50 is missing completely.

It’s all described on the first page of https://raw.pixls.us/
Basically, for that camera it’s just one sample.

For us, only the checkbox “I declare that I own full rights to this file and I hereby release it under the co license into the public domain.” in upload form matters.

Just pick the nicest sample  The “guidelines” for these samples are, again, listed on https://raw.pixls.us/
