Raw Therapee is Fuji XT-3 functional - almost

Fuji just announced its XT-3 with a new 26MP sensor. Raw Therapee processed a RAF from the dPreview sample gallery (https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilm-x-t3-first-impressions-review/6). There is one glitch: a black band is appended on the right side, about 16 pixels wide. And if you compare the example below with the camera JPG, you’ll see imagery demosaiced on the right, for example, the two dots of light, not one, on the flute – but also a loss, compared to the camera JPG, of perhaps 8 pixels on the left.

It would be helpful to get a CC0 licensed sample of this image, then support would come quite quickly in all the FOSS applications, I’m sure!

It don’t think it is available for sale yet but it is possible for a CC0 sample floating around somewhere. :sunny:

It was announced yesterday and is available for preorder.

@RTCharles It is against DPReview’s copyright policy to publish photos from their gallery elsewhere unless you’ve asked for their permission. If you haven’t, you should remove the image from your post.

Insert this snippet into your local camconst.json file:

    { // Quality C
        "make_model": [ "FUJIFILM X-T3" ],
        "raw_crop": [ 0, 0, 6254, -0 ]
    },

By adapting the X-T2 camconst.jsonit seems to open the X-T3 raw files adequately:

    { // Quality X
        "make_model": [ "FUJIFILM X-T3" ],
        "dcraw_matrix": [ 11434,-4948,-1210,-3746,12042,1903,-666,1479,5235 ], // DNG_v9.4 D65
        "raw_crop": [ 0, 0, 6262, 4126 ], //- experimental crop
        "ranges": { "white": 16250 }
    },

Doh… you beat me

@sguyader Yeah, sorry for that. But 6262 is too much. Gives black right border :wink:

I didn’t really check precisely, so I’m sure you’re right!

Thanks. Photo removed.

At the end of the month when I get mine I’ll shoot and send in samples if they aren’t in yet. Can raw therapee use the image sets uploaded to pixls repo? their wiki last time i looked i swore had a different location to submit. My main goal is darktable support though so I’ll definitely be submitting there regardless.

RPU https://raw.pixls.us/ accepts only 1 sample per camera model, unless a given model is capable of producing different types of raw files. So do upload a sample to RPU, but also upload sets 1 and 2 using http://filebin.net/

Please read this updated article, don’t forget to zip before you upload, and open an issue in GitHub:

When i submitted for X-H1 support they asked for JPG, RAW, and RAW uncompressed… or am I just imagining the JPG…

Maybe that was for darktable’s base curve?

@agriggio just pushed a fix which gives a few more rows at the bottom for XT-3 RAF

Hi. I’m new to Fuji and to Rawtherapee. I just purchased a Fuji X-T3 and was told to go here to request a current build for Mac. If that is not a problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe

Pinging @HIRAM who makes the Mac builds

:ping_pong: thanks @sguyader
@hokahey Here is the latest mac build… https://filebin.net/1qxzyyhfr86rl90w/RawTherapee_OSX_10.9_64_5.4-901-g043bb3518.zip?t=ao3b62kz

I put them here in the wiki thread:

… which is exactly the case here, since that camera produces two raw types - compressed and uncompressed.
In other words, if someone has that camera, please upload two samples (a set, with the exact same content). (do ignore the warning about existing samples.)

Yeah, no JPEGs, only raws.
