i m working with some images (cr2) that are quite normal coloured in preview, but purple, when opening them.
How can I apply the same profile as in preview? I re-installed Raw Therappee (4.2-4 on Kubuntu), but the purple tone, as first appereance remains. The cr2 image are shot with a Canon Powershot G7
The preview that you’re seeing is most likely the embedded jpg in the raw file. To get something similar to what the in-camera processing looks like will require you to create that look yourself.
This can give you some more info on what’s going on:
@Morgan_Hardwood we should look later next week on addressing the domain name and hosting for rawpedia. We’re losing valuable google-sauce without a proper domain name.
@mikolaskova purple usually means that the raw format is not supported. Not surprising, as RawTherapee 4.2 is over 2 years old. You can get the latest nightly build by following instructions on our downloads page http://rawtherapee.com/downloads
The Canon Powershot G7 does not shoot raw files (I read of a firmware upgrade which adds raw support, but couldn’t find it anywhere, sounds like an urban legend), so I guess you actually have the G7 X which is well supported by RawTherapee today.
Thank you. I installed the Rawtherapee via Muon (Kubuntu), but I will try the newer version.
What the camera is concerining: I didn’t shoot the pictures by myself, - I’m converting them for someone else, the camera info is just out of the metadata displayed by Rawtherappee…
Best regards,
Adriana
