I have RawTherapee 5.4 installed on Windows 10. I am curious if it is possible in RT to use edit current photo with external editor function in Gimp 2.9.8 in 32 bit instead of 16 bit.

Not from within RT, but you can always export to 32-bit TIFF and open that in GIMP. (I doubt you will see much benefit though)
