Rawtherapee blurry image Linux Mint

Hello, I switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint xfce (the Cinnamon version would not install on a 4k monitor with an Nvidia 1030 card).

I am having an issue with Rawtherapee because the images, icons, and fonts in the program are blurry (out of focus).

The monitor resolution is set to 4k.

The Nvidia drivers are installed, and the window scaling in the system is x2 because with the default scaling everything is very, very small.

I don’t know how to solve this. With x1 scaling, the images in Rawtherapee are sharp, but the icons are very small.

I should add that Darktable and Pix display everything correctly.

I didn’t have such problems in Windows.

Please close this thread. There are more programs in Linux XFCe that have very poor scalability. I’m going back to Windows

I would try Kubuntu or ZorinOS which allow for fractional scaling… Xfce and Cinnamon use X11 which can be hit or miss with scaling on 4k.

I installed ZorinOS and MX Linux KDE.

Icon and font scaling works fine, but the image is blurry when editing.

It looks like stretching to me.

Interestingly, the image is sharp in Darktable and XnView MP.

Editing in Rawtherapee is currently cumbersome because it is impossible to tell when the photo is sharp.

Everything worked much better on Windows 10.

I think I was too hasty in deciding to switch to Linux :frowning:

I’ve had that issue when I bought a higher resolution monitor it was slightly blurry when editing in darktable on Windows 10. Its fine on my smaller laptop display which is the same resolution.
