RawTherapee single-image-processing default save directory

I typically use RawTherapee as a follow-up after Filmulator, and so I launch it by right-clicking on jpegs in a file browser.

However, saving the image is a bit cumbersome because the file browser defaults to the last location it was used in, rather than the location of the file it’s working on.

Is there any way to make it default to the directory of the source image you’re processing, at least for single image mode?

So far as I can tell, and I’m no expert, your best bet would be to send it to the processing queue, then enable the auto-start opetion for the queue, so your image gets processed right away. The Queue allows you to use a template to save the image, and you could set it for the local directory.

There is no processing queue when you launch in single photo mode…otherwise I’d happily do that.

@CarVac the save window has a list of shortcuts on the left, and a shortcut to the folder which contains the opened image is automatically placed there. This should satisfy your needs.

As for the lack of queue, Get rid of no-File-Browser mode (simpleEditor) · Issue #2238 · Beep6581/RawTherapee · GitHub

Oh, I didn’t notice that.

That suffices.
