I think that I have run into this problem before … but don’t remember how I solved it
Some of my images are showing-up as ‘skulls’ but they all open correctly. How do I refresh the data set and more importantly, why is this happening?
Are you doing things with the files outside of DT…that can break the DT links
I am sure that I have done something foolish … I found myself with two instances of dt running … and I thought that was impossible!
Anyway, how do I rebuild the data?
Make sure darktable is closed then run darktable-generate-cache
Two instances may run on different databases, for example one being the in-memory database.
You may are on Linux, you may have a ‘normal’ and a ‘snap’ package installed, those would use different databases.
Thank you … that was the command that I needed. I am running Manjaro/Arch and I think that I have nailed down the problem.
My system uses a 4 Tb. drive that is broken down into 2 x 2 Tb. storage units. One unit is used for the system and the second for the dt ‘IMAGES’. During a restart the system refuses to initiate the IMAGE volume without a specific call, and if I forget to do so, then dt gets messed-up.
My Manjaro is set to initiate all attached drives automatically but it , for some reason, cannot see the other half of the 4 Tb drive during startup.
Has anybody out there solved a similar problem?
You should put the DT images disk in your fstab.
