Hi all, I’m using Darktable on windows 10. I’ve accidentally imported images directly from the camera without using copy. After removing the camera I’ve lost the link to the files obviously. Is it possible to restore the link after I copy the images to a directory on my computer? If you know Lightroom, there’s an option to find missing files and all links are automatically restored after linking one of the missing photographs.
Thanks, Erik
hey @erikm001 welcome to the forum.
Take a look at darktable 4.2 user manual - collections
So it sounds like you have already copied the images to your computer ansd DT doesn’t know where they are. This is straight forward. Use the add to library feature in inport. No extra copies are made, but DT knows where they now are. See the relevant section of the user guide. I keep the guide bookmarked and refer to it often.

The problem was that I had added the pictures to the library without copying them from the sd card, so when I removed the card, I couldn’t access the pictures anymore. Just found out that I can move the selected images to another directory and then DT will relink the images to the new location. So problem solved. Thanks for the tips. I’m used to lightroom, but after 2 weeks using DT, I already prefer DT.
