Hello,
I am using version 1.2.4 of Siril. I ran starnet to create a starless image. The resulting image showed quite some noticeable horizontal banding, probably because it was an extremely dense star region. Applying the "remove banding " worked very nicely, but it required me to first convert to 16bit format (with potetnial loss of information). Will it be possible in future to have it work on 32 bit floating point formats ? Many thanks for all your work ! Best regards, Jan
Hello.
Why banding removal would only work on 16bit data?
It works on both.
Hello,
I got the following message in the console :
9:33:23: Banding Reducing: processing…
09:33:25: Image operations can only be kept 16 bits if first input images are 16 bits. Aborting.
09:33:25: Execution time: 2.47 s.
All goes well if I convert from 32 to 16 bit before.
I think your preferences are set to 16bits and not 32bits
Indeed, I changed the setting to 32bit and now it works.
Thank you for solving my problem so fast and efficiently !
Best regards, Jan
