Due to having some grief with a Nikon 1 camera I loaded a raw file into UFRaw to try the Nikon way. 2 curves one maps the raw file directly so has more bit depth on one axis than the other and the 2nd is the normal curve type. At least that’s how I believe it works. I’ve always found it fairly painful to use but thinking about it like that helped and I have managed to match Nikon raw conversion with it.
That caused me to wonder if the 2 RT curves work in the same way and also if the UFRaw curves can be loaded? It can be useful at times.
On the same score I wonder if there are any Linux utilities about that will allow me by over exposure etc to determine the bit depth of the sensor from the raw file.
