Hi Claes! I do not yet get the “silly” aspect of Your question. 
I usually inspect a picture at 200%, 400%, or 800%, this means the preview offered by RT as well as elsewhere in other software (Darktable, GIMP), as long as it is about judging adjustment of filters like denoise.
