Beginner in Astro. Trying to process Astro pics Tried Siril 1.06 and 1.20. Get continual Script Execution Failure. Have all cailibration files in 1 folder separated, all files same size. HELP
Hello.
Did you follow the official tutorial? Step by step?
Because folders structure must be specific.
yes, thats why I mentioned that specifically in my intro. I changed all my folders and files so that it was the same as in tutorial. Tried all sorts of alternatives but no joy.
With no more information: logs, screenshots, etc… It is difficult to help.
Thanks for responding. Attached are the Siril OSC PRE Processing readout, my C file location, the main file under Astro 2, sub file Manapouri 1, and then the calibration frames within. All files are the same size.

The operating file now is in C drive, before was in an external HDD. Operating file is Astro2, under Astro 2 if you open up is a file called Manapouri 1 and if you open this file all the calibration frames are located. All files are NEF(Raw)
Not sure how to get PC files as screenshots.
OK. So you don’t follow the structure.
In your working directory you MUST have 4 folders. biases flats darks and lights.
As explained here: https://siril.org/tutorials/first-steps/
was just following a tutorial where the fellow had all the calibration files in 1 folder as I have ? You mean a separate folder Bias, another., Dark, another flat, another light all in separate folders and not together.?
Just transferred all calibration files into separate folders as suggested—same result, failed ?
I notice that it keeps saying to convert bias files to. fit files. Tutorials dont say that. Also says about separate folders but done that.
More detailed tutorial is here:
This tutorial like others shows exactly what I have done and what you advised. All files are in individual folders also as you advised. I open up as they say, I go to osc pre proc in scripts and click go but fail each time. Must be another problem?Thoughts
I’m sorry but if the script fails this is because the folder structure is not good.
16:41:33: ‘biases’ No such file or directory
16:41:33: Error in line 24: ‘cd’.
That means the biases folder isn’t found.
But why, the Biases are there in a separate folder just like the other 3?
Please, could you screenshot your folder structure.
All 4 folders have the files in them when I click on Siril in the Program section.
Astro 2 is main file, them Manapouri 1 then when you open that you get the file with each calibration folder separately
Your working directory is Astro 2 while it should be manapouri 1
Done, finished successfully !!! A thousand chocolate bars for you and for staying with me to overcome the problem. I guess you are in the USA so hard to send chocolate ? I am in Perth, Western Australia. So Russell sends his grateful thanks.
Nope. I’m from France :). Like some Siril devs ;).
Eh bien encore un grande merci pour votre soutien et votre aide, ce fut grandement apprecie.
Russell
