Is there a definitive list of files that Darktable should have file location configured if I am using a separate drive for photos.
My primary drive failed but all my photo files are on a second drive. I’ve installed a fresh copy of MX Linux on a new primary drive. I do plan on building a new computer in the near future so I would like to keep the database and thumbnails etc on the second drive to make yet another installation of Darktable easier. This will also make file backup of photos and important files easier rather than getting tangled up with using the primary drive.
All drives are ssd’s so no performance issues.
Pretty much all the things you’d want to preserve are in ~/.config/darktable. I don’t see the point in storing cache on a different drive, as you can rebuild the cache at any time.
