Shortcut for Color Calibration

Dear all:

I’m just enjoying the amazing improvement on shortcut system on our beloved dt (thanks to all devs!!!). It’s sooo complete and powerful…

And while I was finishing the spanish translation of the 3.8 manual, I was checking the questions I had not discovered yet from this new shortcut system.

And I’m not sure if there is a mistake by me, not finding the way to do that, or if, as I suspect, there is no way to define a shortcut that I would be able to use sooo much.

It’s the Color Calibration buton for the colorpicker that is placed besides the color of the current illuminant, that calculates automatically the white balance to get a neutral gray (a mean) in the selected area (or most of the image if not area specified).

I do use to shot usually with a fixed neutral color temperature and adjust afterwards, when processing the pictures, the proper white balance. Yes, I know, the good practice should be to shot with the accurate white balance, but I use to feel more comfortable this way :grimacing:

So, it would be wonderful to have a shortcut that allows me activate this button without need to open the color calibration module. But it seems that there is no such a possibility. Or at least I can’t find it.

Any suggestion or even workaround if there is such a thing? Or do I just have to continue working as ever, or asking devs to add this option, if that’s possible?

Thanks!

It looks like this cannot currently be assigned to a shortcut (the cross cursor when you hover over it in mapping mode indicates that the widget cannot be mapped). I would suggest you raise an issue.

I think this is a difficult one to sort out as it is not a true toggle . I often run into the fact that the range used by the pipette can be sticky or conflicted with the color picker and is not the one I intend or remember having selected so blindly activating this might not produce consistent results.

This may be why there is not access to it…
