This weekend we made a trip to the Swiss Alps to Taminaschlucht. At some place I found this cute reptile, where I got lucky. I am now thinking about having the picture printed and hanging on the wall.
@arctic, if I remember correctly, it was a bit darker in real life, almost (or completely?) black. On Wikipedia it says: “Usually black or brown-black”.
@afre : Interesting! Yeah, I know that that can have different meanings…
I almost immediately came back to this rendition and had a better look. This image lends itself well for a “monochrome” look. I double quoted that 'cause the noise/mist effect has a nice colouring. That effect works well with the out of focus parts of the original image.
Also: your crop, which seems somewhat unconventional but works very nicely.
@Jade_NL I am glad your experience went in that direction. I wanted to make it the kind of image that one would linger on, seeing more as they contemplate.
I was also inspired by @BayerSe’s consideration of aluminum dibond. Although it doesn’t have that look per se, it does have a somewhat metallic appearance.
