Hello,
Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS / Xorg - just in case it would be useful.
I discovered that the modules that are auto-applied has been modified since 4.4.2.
This only occurs at new import or history reset, so I did not notice this first, but it really happens.
I had set them in a certain way, and have not modified my settings in any way.
But since 4.4.2, every history reset or new import adds an extra exposure instance that I could not track so far.
Attached is a picture I processed one year ago, together with the sidecar that was generated then and the one that was created today, just resetting the history.
I could not find why and how my settings could have been altered so far. Nor how to fix this.
Nothing in my presets that could explain this.
I even toggled Preferences / Processing / default workflow from None to Scene referred (Sigmoid), but it did not change anything. And it did not happen until I upgraded to 4.4.2 (4.2.1 worked fine).
Rgrds,
Still searching why this second instance of exposure set to +3ev which ruins my work and seems impossible to remove.
The manual does not tell much about this - but maybe is it because I do not search in the right section.
I am going to continue searching, with the hope that I will find where this second instance comes from - and why +3ev ? In my initial workflow, exposure is set to 0. So, again, why this value seeming come out of the hat ?
Well, I finally found, after re-re-…-reading the online manual. I cannot find the section again at the moment, but it was something about local presets management vs global presets management. This was late before going to bed.
So today I had a look at Preferences / Presets / Exposition and noticed there were two entries checked : Default for scene related and +3 IL - the culprit !
I had to expand the window and scroll to the right to see the checks.
I still do not know how this can have happened, maybe some wrong typing at a given moment, but it was during my previous session just before reinstalling dt.
Much headache for just a little check mark.
I think it should have shown up in the dropdown of the exposure module presets then if you had selected to edit it you could have unselected it as auto and it would have reverted to a normal preset for 3 ev whenever you manually wanted to select that…
Not. I could not, but I am glad you confirm it ought have been possible.
When my colleagues call me for some uncommon behaviour of our office sw, this is the point at which I ask them to take control of their computer to see by myself and… “Hey ! you are right ! this is really unexpected, let’s see why the hell it does that…” and I usually can solve the problem.
Here, noone will never be able to tell what really did happen.
