[SOLVED] making style the default instead of present default

How can I make a ‘default style’, that starts working when I open a new image, instead of the modules that open now in DT. I want a default without, for instance, filmic and exposure. I have to change to a style without these modules now for every image, but I prefer to have another default.

It is very simple and straight forward you need to create a style. Also in the options for processing you want to set the auto-apply pixel workflow defaults. See image below

Afaik, it’s not possible to apply a style automatically (contrary to presets).
But you can apply a style to a group of images in the lighttable view.

To get rid of filmic and exposure, specifically, set your auto-apply pixel workflow defaults to none. See darktable 4.2 user manual - processing.

For actually applying styles automatically, use the autostyle Lua script: darktable lua documentation - autostyle

To install Lua scripts: darktable 4.2 user manual - lua scripts installer

Thanks for the answers. So, if I want scene referred I can’t get rid of filmic and exposure and I have to close filmic by hand if I want to use sigmoid instead. No big problem. I keep the standard scene referred and click a style where filmic and exposure are not active after loading an image. Not much work anyway.

scene-referred is not the same as filmic. Please read the documentation, which clearly states that:

none will not enable any modules by default and will set the pixelpipe to the v3.0 (scene-referred) order defined for darktable 3.0 and later.

Yes, I know that scene-referred is not the same as filmic, it was only an example and possibly not the best one. I also want that changes made in default settings of some other modules, for instance demosaicing, are changed to another default setting. I have read the paragraph about lua, but what I want is not important enough at the moment to take the time to learn how to make such scripts. So as long there’s not a simple way to make other defaults, I stay with clicking the style that does what I want, after opening an image.

You can use auto-applied module presets to change defaults.

Thank you, I will take a look at that.

This workes, thanks for the advice. Problem solved.
I can’t find a way to place ‘solved’ in the title.

I’m glad it works for you. Marked the topic as ‘solved’.

Thanks for closing. The TIF’s show up pinkish now in the lighttable, but not in he coillection and external editor, so that’s no problem.
