While I’m pretty sure (80%) that these are edible mushrooms I don’t think that it’s a good idea to just take a bite like that

Absolutely. Photographic doses only, lol.

I reminded me a bit of Amanita, hence the psychedelic connection. I’m an old guy. But I wasn’t always. And, a long time ago…

Thank you!

I haven’t used it before and I may not again! But I remembered it. I had in mind something more liquid, more dripping, and should have revised it first! It was introduced the other day, ie within the past two or three years!

If you look on you tube there are only a couple of videos. A 2-minute one in which a nose and a backside are reshaped, and for those who do that kind of work, it looks quite powerful. Bruce Williams has the HOWTO video. And also points out that he occasionally uses it. Not for anatomy, but for when he needs to push some sky out to the corners in a pano shot.

wow, can you explain how you achieved this?

First, I manually removed the background (hate work since I’m a filter guy, but it was necessary). I then dupped that effort and ran G’MIC’s Gradient Norm and used it as a mask for the mushrooms to create a transparent result I needed. I dupped that and ran Bevel Reflect Logo and a clear marble target. On another dupped layer I blended in the following: Icicle Script-fu, Plastic or Glass Script-fu and Sparkle and combined to taste. I then flattened with a black layer and added Supernova for the light source. Each time I attempt glass sculptures or Ice sculptures I use a similar flow but always differently. Oh yeah; I also cheated by adding selectively EyeCandy’s Glass (still runs inside GIMP via PSPI) to add some selective rippling to break the straight line curves but noticed I missed a few places. lolol

I also forgot to add icicle to the inner rim of the mushroom heads (always a work in progress; lol). Yes; took nearly 40 minutes for this but it’s my day off so why not.

Edit: forgot that I created a convolution layer using the Original layer dupped and G’MIC’s Detailed Gradient as well as Local Variance Normalization applied to just the Mushrooms. I hate creating tuts since I usually edit at the seat of my pants so to speak, but I would be remiss if I didn’t include the convolution step. Sadly, it creating the lines that I had to then break up using EyeCandy Glass preset. Also forgot that I blended in an Ice pattern that I created a while back (even though I shared this texture, I cannot find the link). As a side note, to get an ideal of what the icicle script-fu can do, you can check link below (it uses ice-fire but pretty much the same).
