hi, I cannot find the spot removal tool in dt 3.5. Please bring it back, it uses less hardware resources than retouch.

You can usually get it from the depreciated modules and if you save a style using it you can keep using it at least for sometime as it is needed so as not to break old edits…

So this just means “retouch needs some tuning to bring it to the same level as spot removal”
in the long term developer resources to maintain similar modules is more expensive than optimizing one.

The “clone” tool in the retouch module should be equivalent to spot removal. You can make this tool the default by shift+clicking on it

yes it seems to need less hardware resources than the healing tool
Also the retouch module has had additional fixes applied to it recently that have not been replicated in spot removal (better handling of pipe distortions like lens/perspective/keystone correction). As @darix said, easier to just maintain one tool going forward.
I think the clone tool in retouch used to be slower. I think someone did something here.
