StarNet 2.5.3 - StarNet.py: does not generate Starless or Starmask .fit files

Downloaded - extracted StarNet 2.5.3 - updated Preferences and StarNet.py for location of Starnet executable and weight files. Starnet will “run” but does not create the Starless and Starmask .fit files from Starnet.py - HOWEVER, starless and starmask .fit files are generated through the Star Processing path.
Suggestions on how to get the python script working?

If Starnet is installed correctly the script will work. I have validated it with the new 2.5.3 release and apart from not supporting the new highlight preservation mode yet there is no regression.

Make sure it is installed correctly and works by itself first - if it doesn’t, the python script won’t make a broken installation work by magic. You would need to reach out to the Starnet author for help with getting it installed and working correctly.

If it works correctly standalone and generates a correct starless .tif file, but it still doesn’t work correctly via the Siril script then let me know, but I’m pretty confident that the script works as long as Starnet works by itself.

I cannot find a method to run the latest Starnet2 2.5.3 standalone in Windows. So, I cannot test this.
As I wrote above, if I use the Star Processing path - the starless and starmask .fit files are generated.
It seems that they .py path does not produce these.
The starnet .exe is pointed to correctly and the weighting file are both correct otherwise the Star Processing path would not work?
