Hello. I use Rawtherapee on Linux Mint and or Windows 10. My procedure is to right mouse click on the raw file and choose “open with Rawtherapee”. I would like RT to always open the raw in a neutral profile not “last saved”. Is this possible? I’ve looked in “Preferences” and can’t see how. Of course I know it’s easy to change to neutral. But still, I’d prefer neutral from the start.
Yes, I’ve done that but it still starts in “Last Saved”!
I see … But while it says “Last saved”, it actually is neutral.
No, it’s always a bright looking processed image, not a dark looking raw look!
I was just about to suggest the same as @mlenard … So if that doesn’t work, I’m all out of ideas… I’m sure someone will know.
I do the same as you, just select Neutral… But can also see the benefits of just opening a file up in neutral.
I’ll keep an eye out for the answer as well ![]()
If a PP3 file already exists, it gets loaded. Otherwise, the Neutral setting works for me as expected …
Nope, not for me. If I put the raw file in an empty folder and open it, RT finds a PP3 in some other folder and applies that!
Did you try to clear the cache? (Make a copy first, if it is important.)
Nope, clearing the cache will take a lot longer than just changing the profile to neutral. I just want RT to have an option to never use an existing PP3. I use four different cameras so “Last Saved” is quite meaningless to me. Anyway, it was just a pipe dream. Many thanks for trying to help.
Quick question @borebonn and @mlenard on a slightly different note… What version of RT are you using and do you see the 'My Profiles ’ listed in the ‘Processing Profile’ drop down when you select Neutral?
I’m asking because I don’t see it anymore… But I’m using a dev version of RT. Sorry to hijack this post about setting Neutral, but just wondered what you both see in the drop down.
As a side note, if I want a profile I have saved, I just click the Open icon next to it, and this is set to my own file system where I have my sidecar pp3 files, and open what I want.
Thanks/Danke/Bedankt/Merci
Most of the time I am using the development version, that uses a separate “config” folder (named RawTherapee5-dev, at least on Windows), so here and there I have to copy my profiles between folders.
Pre-dev builds also create separate folders for each branch, if I understand this correctly.
Cool… found that folder and copied my profiles in there… and now I see My Profiles (with my pp3 files) in the drop down of Processing Profiles. Although now they are three clicks away, as apposed to two…
but at least I have them!
Grazie molto! @mlenard
