Stones at an Irish beach

While testing some new stuff for RT I found this old raw file, which I quite like because of the different colors of the stones. So I made a play raw of it…

Here’s the RT output using neutral profile (quite boring):

And the raw:

The tricky part for me was to accentuate the colours of the stones without making sand too colourful. Used GIMP 2.10.10 after the latest RawTherapee 5.7 pre-release.

A different approach:

RT 5.6 Capture Sharpening branch

Exported to TIFF
Refilled black areas
Resized and Microcontrast (Strength=50 Contrast=35 Uniformity=2)

Love the signal-noise! Was it during vacation?

Yes, that was during a short 4-day vacation in Ireland.

But the sand has the same colors as the stones…

Having never been there, I was not bound by reality :slightly_smiling_face: Just thought how can I emphasize the uniqueness of the occasional colorful events (stones) occurring in otherwise mundane life (dull sand). :smirk:
