Hey! I’m working on some new Darktable content, such as the website. We need sample images to capture screenshots and videos of the software in action!
Submit your RAW+XMP file here (Export from DT with file format: copy). We’d like these to show before/after and history panel.
Attribution: Please state your attribution CC with your post, at least CC BY-NC 4.0 for our uses.
Avoid portraits or closeups of faces for simpler copyright/privacy reasons. I think showing skintones would be good however.
Submit just a few: We would like bangers, but not zillions. Maybe your best 3
Showcase variety, landscape, film scans, street photography, macro, animals, astro, food photography, archival — we would love to have samples to test all major DT features.
Chard, Somerset on a rainy night.
This one I like and it’s perhaps interesting as shot on a ‘vintage’ digital, the Olympus E-400 with an adapted OM Zuiko 50mm f1.8 wide open.
Here a few, hope it highlight editing features and processing quality of DT with a pleasant look.
I tried to follow the guidelines … just 3, variety, licence, sidecars…
I’ve always been bad at judging what I do so hope one matches what you need !
DMC-GH1 with vintage Vivitar series 1 70-210mm macro
It’s a significant crop to center on a miniature marsh plant, not having macro lens at hand. Still the rather universal travel-zoom-walk-around M.Zuiko 12-100 seems to perform.
Here’s a couple you can choose between.
Note that my intention for these is to show how darktable can be used for processing scanned negatives. These were taken over 20 years ago on a cheap camera and are not particularly great photos technically. I selected them for their “old holiday snapshot” and film-look vibe. They were also first processed a while ago so may not be using the most recent dt version and modules.
If you want to do the split-screen effect I did in my original post using a snapshot, you’ll need to select an appropriate point in the history after the neg has been oriented, etc.
