Tagging and filtering collections (not pictures)

Hi,
I looked around and did not find anything…
Is there a way to tag complete collections/filmrolls and filter the collection list? Like “To work on”, “Done”, or so?
I only found ways to tag filter images.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

I think most use the colors. Green is finished, yellow in progress, red to reject …

A collection or filmroll is just a selection of images, selected by some criterion.
That can be a disk directory, but also the result of a (complex) search query.
So I’m not sure applying tags to a collection makes much sense (naming a collection could be useful).

As such, you could use tags to select images to be worked on, images that are done, etc.
Note that the collection module has a few “metatags” like “not tagged”, “exported”, and such.

There’s also a “collection filters” module, which allows dynamic filtering of the active collection.

Using those two modules together, you should get (close to) what you want with the current darktable version.

Hi, thanks, yes, I’ll give this a try.
Thanks a lot!

You can use the select images module to select all, then go to the tagging module and find the tag you want and double click on it to apply it to all the selected images.

You can use the collections module to filter by adding a rule after the collection to narrow down the collection. Select tag and then the tag you want to use to narrow the collection down.
