The Painted Hills

This is my first Explored photo in Flickr with an all-FOSS workflow. RawTherapee → GIMP → digiKam. I’ve been learning to tweak individual colors in RT with LAB and HSV adjustments. It’s a game changer for my landscape work.

The colors are indeed awesome – clear and distinctive without being too saturated.

Very nice job, colors are well rendered. I hope you get a chance to work with darktable. You might be able to utilize the masking capabilities that are missing in RT, and save the trip to GIMP. Enjoy!

Reminds me of bliss.

I’ll have to check it out. I haven’t really looked at it seriously since its very early days. In the meantime, I’ve done a fairly deep dive into RT the last 18 months or so. I should check it out after I’m done doing this season’s shooting and editing.

Thank you. Yes, that was my goal, to avoid the exaggerated Instagram colors but still make them pop.
