The sole survivor

Lots of colour and texture to play with.

Lit with a speedlight in a softbox, small aperture to kill ambient and maximise depth of focus.
A bit of selective exposure & dropped the kelvin a few degrees to cool it down some. A little sharpening and a very little bloom under a soft mask to soften the periphery.

Great photo! I actually really like this one compared to most still-life photos of flowers.
I made a pretty punch edit to make the flowers stand as alone as possible against the black, then i lowered the detail slider in local contrast to make it kind of painting-like.

A last one even though I’m tempted to carry on.

And, for the curious, below’s the seamless texture created for the previous render (not perfect).

Can you please share your .arp file? In PlayRaw that’s what people usually do to help others learn processing.

Interesting shot, thanks for this. Not sure about my processing here, but here’s my go. I think I actually managed to use Spots in a meaningful way in RT (5.12-305 dev), so again, this gave me a good opportunity to try something.

Thanks! I use ART because of its excellent AGX Film Simulation integration and because I can sometimes reach my desired edit much faster. I also enjoy using Darktable, but it just takes me longer to get there.

Great edit! Looks like we both go for that analog film look.

I couldn’t do anything that hasn’t been done in this thread already. Love the image!
