The Wave and the Rock

I’m really not satisfied with my processing. Maybe someone has better ideas…

I struggled bringing life to this picture while being faithful to the colors of the scene.

A second attempt putting color where there possibly wasn’t color.

I started by really pushing colour and brightness. I’ve accidentally obscured the horizon…

Trying to keep the stormy look, I probably somewhat brutalized it.
Sorry :flushed:

Not sorry, I like it!

I also struggled a bit with it. It was obviously a gray day, and I may even have brightened it too much.

PS - I am replacing my first attempt.

I didn’t realize that was the case. Makes sense now.

Probably too sunshiny…

It’s interesting that all the edits but two have a halo around the rocks. It’ll be interesting to view the edits and see which modules are responsible.

I checked my edit in ART - it is Local Contrast that created the halo.

Not sure how I missed that vertical line. On my first round it was contrast eq that was the issue. I added a couple tweaks that should have been done if I was paying more attention the first time. History baked into the jpg.
