I used photorec the other day after I accidentally overrode some files. My X-T3 had reset mid trip, so the files started at 001 twice and there she goes :slight_smile: Now I import with a script that extracts the timestamp and appends it as a prefix to the filename.

Curiously enough, photorec even restored files that were more than a year old. I have a few SD cards that I rotate, so imagine the surprise…

For a while, my Fuji’s SD cards would occasionally be corrupted my Linux box. I have used Photorec many times to recover from this. I got quite good and fast at it.

Then I found that Windows could repair the file system. And shortly thereafter the bug that caused this was fixed.

Regardless, photorec is amazing.

Thanks, I was not aware of photorec, it is good to know about it.

About the original post: I find it curious to have a setup where someone has a script to import photos, but it has no failsafes/error checking.
