Totally off-topic (but I wished I was there)

As I write, England are 722 for 4 (the highest score for England since 1938). Joe Root was just out for 262, which makes him the highest scoring English test cricketer. Harry Brook is 279, not out. Both Root and Brook are, of course, Yorkshiremen.

I would have my camera with me to record the occasion (a rather obvious attempt to drag it back to photography).

As as a Yank, I never understood cricket. It looks like it should be like baseball, yet it seems it is not.

The other way around, surely. Cricket has been around since the 16th century, so it should be baseball being like cricket.

If you want to compare, baseball is more similar to rounders,

Is cricket similar to Fußball?

Sorry, I am German …

Base supposedly got it’s roots from Cricket but the only thing I see both sports have in common is a ball and a bat. lololol

Never understood cricket myself, PD. Even so, those that do are passionate about that sport for sure.
