Watermark by svg files doesn't fit image

Hi everyone!

First post here…my name is Oliver.

I use DT and like it for its many possibilities that other imaging software does not have to that extent.

What I am trying to do and fail to do properly so far, is to add a frame around my image that in addition to extending the image with a gray or white border, also adds a drop shadow to mimick incoming light.

The way to do it is obviously to create an svg file in inkscape, which I did (looks ok), but DT takes ages to overlay on my pic. When it is done, there is just a square white box on top of my pic that has nothing to do with the svg I created.

Before, I used an svg file done with Affinity, that showed up quicker and more or less ok, but it was overlayed on the pic so I lost the borders of the original pic (making it smaller). That happened even when I made the svg file bigger - DT just shrunk it to my image size.

Are there any ideas how to fix that?

Before, I used Photoshop and that went fine by running actions I programmed. But I turned away from Adobe for good.

Thanks for your input!

Oliver (Germany)

That does not seem to be possible with DT, as it always squeezes the frame INTO the pic, and not around it.

Workaround is using ImageMagick from cmd and run a batch that creates a frame and a shadow.

Pity.

Cheers!

Hi @Oliver_Summerfalcon,

IIUC, maybe the “enlarge canvas” module can help you?
