Wave node only active when topleft of rectangle is inside view (bug?)

I was wonder what I managed to do here. It looks like the rectangle only is affected by the wave node when its upper left corner “inside” the camera/view?
What is a good workaround, I tried merging with a background constant color but there is something else I’ve missed?
