I have digiKam set up to create folders with the date on them for new photos when I Import (download) them from the camera. The problem is if I rename the folder by adding a description after the date, the next time I Import photos on the same day it recreates the original folder. Is there a way to choose which folder the photos download into manually?
In the digiKam camera settings you have specified a target folder /Album. If you do not specify a folder/album, you will be asked for the target album each time you import.
