What is the correlation between amount values in Darktable compared to Photoshop?

Hi all,

Since I try to build some styles, I would like to know, what Darktable (in the sharpen tool) means by a sharpening amount of 1,00 for example. Is it the same like 100% in Photoshop? Or is it a factor and 2,00 in Darktable the same like 100% in Photoshop? Or something else?

Are the values for radius the same like in Photoshop?

Does anybody know that? It would be helpful, because there are often recommendations for settings in Photoshop and I would like to use them in Darktable.

Thank you for your help!

There are no fundamental and comparable values. It depends on the particular algorithm and how it is implemented. For darktable you can look at the code of the modules (open source), with Photoshop you have to rely on the documentation of the manufacturer.

You will probably have to try it out.

Should behave the same as Sharpen > Unsharp Mask. As for values, don’t get hung up on them. Open the same image in both apps. Move the sliders then compare. Read https://www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/correction_group.html#sharpen.
