when I want to write out a video the write node completly ignores my whole composite and only writes out the first import!

I’m a super noob, just started Natron and compositing is so frustrating, I only do it when I’m making changes to my demo reel, and I dread it every time!! Right now the write node completely ignores everything I make when I try to render out a video. I want a simple turnaround. Also, It will only render the alpha channel, I want the beauty but I can’t get it to work!

here’s what I mean.

also these are my write node settings, my comp is so simple, I just want to merge two turnarounds that’s it.

If by merge you mean you want to overlay or combine two sources you should use the Merge Node, not the Switch node.

From you screenshot it looks like you have your Read node set to only read the alpha layer of your exr file.

wow, thanks that did the trick. Except I did need the switch node. I wanted to switch from one clip to the other. I just had it set up wrong.
