Why are they different

Here is a print screen: https://i.imgur.com/utM89ea.png

It’s the same image:

  • left: within RT (editor window)
  • right: exported jpeg

8bit::jpeg quality=100::subsampling=best quality

They look slightly different. It looks better within RT. I have already set the profile to RT_sRGB.

You can upload the screenshot here, no need for imgur.

If you’re using Linux and your image viewer (the image on the right in the screenshot) is any image viewer besides Geeqie, there is a high probability that it isn’t color managed, while RT is color managed.

They look the same here. If they look different to you, then what @paperdigits wrote is not only true but also probably the cause of your discrepancy.

Comparing things side by side became obsolete with the advent of alt+tab. Colors on a monitor change depending on the viewing angle. Backlights are not uniform. etc.

Without supplying the PP3 file, preferably also the raw file, and detailing your color management settings in RawTherapee, in your image viewer and in your OS, all answers are guesses.

You should also familiarize yourself with the opening paragraphs e.g. here and here.

Here’s a geeqie screen capture

Thanks

Are you sure color management is turned on in geeqie?

Are you using the same color profile in RT and geeqie?
