Windows "the database lock file contains a pid that seems to be alive in your system"

I am using Darktable for windows
I am getting this error “the database lock file contains a pid that seems to be alive in your system”

Please suggest how to resolve this problem, searched in forums but the replies were for Linux/Ubuntu couldn’t find related to windows.

The fix is the same on Linux as windows. If the darktable process is running, kill the process from the Task Manager. Then delete the lock files. Then start darktable.
