After upgrade to darktable 4.6, imported images don't appear in lighttable

what exactly is the issue with your M1: nothing is imported or just the images in substructures of the selected root directory aren’t imported?

On my Mac mini I have Mac and Debian.
My main system is Debian. I “copy and import” 4 images in a directory with no problem.
Going to Mac I try “add to library” but they don’ appear in lighttable.

hm, i can reproduce that contents of subdirectories aren’t imported via “add to library” but the content of the selected directory is imported.
That behaviour is fixed in 4.6.x branch - will build and provide my macos development packages focussing on 4.6.1 end of week …

It seem the recursive directory is the problem because selecting the actual directory
works fine.

Yes that’s it. Thank you.

Same for Ubuntu 22.04, initially installed and subsequently upgraded from the Ubuntu Handbook PPA, where new imports are added successfully but do not appear in the lighttable.

As stated above, importing a single directory loads as expected as long as recursive is unchecked.

@DaveB I shared above that this is now fixed. You can download one of the nightly builds or build master or wait for 4.6.1.

Thanks. I’ve installed the build master from GitHub (4.7.0), and can confirm that the issue is resolved in that version, so it should also be resolved in 4.6.1 when that is released.

I’m having the same problem on Debian 12 with version 4.6.0 of Darktable, installed using flatpak. Any idea when flatpak will upgrade to 4.6.1 or higher? I’m a novice with Linux and would prefer to wait for the flatpak update rather than install from Github. But if it’s going to be a long time (months or more), I might try installing 4.6.1 without flatpak.

Thanks for this discussion thread, it helps to know there is a solution available.

A day or so after 4.6.1 is released (it still isn’t released), the flatpak gets updates quickly.

same here , importing a whole bunch of folders within a folder (recursive) doesn’t work anymore.
folder per folder seperately then it works fine. BUt no fun when you want to import a years worth of photographs

Yes, this is a know bug and already foxed, but not released.

Hi guys, I’m not entirely sure if this will add to the discussion, but I found this thread when trying to resolve a similar issue- I couldn’t see uploaded photos on the main screen. I found there’s been a bunch of filters active in the top left corner and after deselecting some everything is working fine. I hope this will be of help to some of you.
