That is pretty cool. Since less and less cartoons, animes and 2.5d games (and of course more technical applications but I love 2d entertainment ) are being worked on by hand, this type of research is a big step in making them more streamlined and natural.
Hope the artists get more respect though. At least for animes, there are stories of employees being locked in their office until they finish, paid dirt salaries and therefore have no personal time with family and friends and for leisure.
Dust shaded with 2d-ilumination
Really cool, Bazza.
That reminds me, I’m going to enable custom palettes and premade palettes of mine into Autofill Coloring Book. Adds to Projects in Github/Reptorian1125/gmic-community
very good
I would also like an option to export without lines, only the color as an extra layer
Cool effects.
Is there a place where I can learn more about Auto-fill Coloring Book filter?
Have you processed each color layer separately here?
Offtopic, so PM’d you.
No. In this case, just create the shadows for the color.
And the color creates it using the lines “Autofill Coloring Book”
That is quite nice.
Hey, I had a question about this.
It’s off-topic, can I PM you?
Not bad. Perhaps, if you did a multi-scale pass, it would look even cooler.
Here is one more interesting approach -
Some news on this.
I’ve recorded a 10mn video that explains how the algorithm behind the filter Illuminate 2D Shape.
As the algorithm is very simple to implement, I hope some other developers will be interested by it.
Strong French Accent!
I’ll present this work also in the IEEE ICIP’2022 conference, in Bordeaux, next October.
Question, can this algorithm be extended to have custom ramp shade, and to use another image as reflection map? I think it can. The clipwarp plugin for PDN is something I want to see for G’MIC.
