Reworked the second one without haze removal

I made a second version with ART: there is a discussion in another thread how useful the log tone mapping in ART is, so I though of giving it a try. This version is basically using just log tone mapping in automatic mode, and a linear tone curve to bring highlights to white and make shadows darker. I was surprised that such a simple edit worked out this well

From the agx branch. Thanks for the play!
I used color balance rgb to desaturate the highlights. In color calibration, I picked the white balance from the white hairs on the horse’s nose.
I used an instance of local contrast to bring out details in the highlights.
In agx, the pivot is set around the rider’s head.
The rest is standard processing.
Not darktable; but, I couldn’t resist a play with RT. I tweaked WB to give the image a warmer tone, added some denoise, and gave the horse a small boost in brightness and saturation. Thanks for the image, @matdehaast.
