Blue sky between mountains and clouds

I’m not on front of my pc so is this preset formed in colour equaliser? Sounds like a cracking idea!

@Sunhillow and @cedric does this help you?

I was just playing around for that middle blue section and not really spending too much time… foreground is dark but that could be addressed as could the clouds if a different look was the desire

Thank you, Uli.

I opened the image and applied your PP3.

Wow, you did far, far more than I bothered to.

I am impressed by your patience - it doesn’t take much for me to give up …

It doesn’t took me long to get there. There was a time when RT was my standard RAW converter and I still use it from time to time. It’s important to know what module has what effect, so you can work purposeful towards the result you want to achieve.

I always recommend to use at the beginning just a few modules and only that modules which are not doing different things at once.

@bminney I mention the presetI made for blue skies because it is included in my xmp file if you load that. A polarising filter really removes reflected light and when it does this to a blue sky it gives a more pure blue and deeper darker color and this preset is a nice starting point. Nothing complicated about it. The colour zones module could have been used to achieve the same, but I used the color equalizer for my preset.

It does! Thank you Uli!

I have never thought of you as a dedicated DT basher. Despite myself being a dedicated DT user I would also not want to be seen as dedicated RT basher. Both programs have their strengths and maybe even weaknesses and this PlayRaw forum allows as to show case the capabilities of each of these programs. There are many RT features I would love to see in DT and I would love RT to have the drawn and parametric masking capabilities for every module like DT has.

Thank you

I created some profiles some time ago with too many modules activated. Out of laziness, one of them is my default when loading a new image.

This version was based on neutral setting and only necessary modules activated.

There is a german saying “Viel hilft viel” (much helps much) which in many cases is not true

I wouldn’t call this laziness but efficiency. I do it the same way in dt. But I’m always working on this styles to optimize them,

It is a beautiful landscape, thanks for sharing. Not too much to add after what has been said here. But it is always funny to play.

It was hard to avoid halos in the trees while lifting the shadows, I also removed the blue tint in the shadows to contrast with the sky:
