I reckon I might switch to darktable, but first I’ll do a few side by side comparisons of what I can make from the same scan in both.

I agree with kofa’s suggestion of posting an image as PlayRaw. Both DT and RT are excellent programs and there is a fork of RT called ART. I would be interested in which program is bested for scanned images.
