Can't seem to find my completed image in Lighttable.

I think the case for having the jpg automatically imported is if you use only dt for managing ALL your images… in that case you’d certainly want it in there. I don’t - but I have a long history of struggling with management! (meaning my workflow doesn’t carry much weight)
My current system is that all the exported jpgs (all those with 3+ star rating usually) go into a subfolder, which I don’t manage with dt.

Yes, the JPG is the end result but I’d like dt to manage all my images. Maybe there could be a choice in preferences to allow that?

Yes, I’d like dt to manage everything so perhaps a choice for that in the setup preferences would be nice.

Maybe you could write a script to do that, taking this as a base (simply skip invoking Gimp):

OK thanks all. The image was obviously there and just needed to be imported (I might remember that now going forward) I knew it had to be something silly on my part.

Here’s a link to a lua script that will add a target in the exporter to add the image to the current collection

Wow, thanks! I’ll read up on lua scripting and try it out.

Thanks Bill. I will try and find out more about working with lua scripts. However, I am wondering how hard would it be to have a tick box in the export module to do this action if desired? Many programs have this option and I have really come to appreciate DT’s ability to manage my images with its DAM capabilities. It is more than just an editor for me due to the great improvements over time. Thanks for your weekly builds by the way. Much appreciated and looked forward to.

Same as everything else, find someone who is willing to do the work.

I appreciate that wanting these features depends upon a generous developer feeling it is worth their time to do it. When I first started with DT I only ever saw it as a RAW file editor, but it has become so much more more as the developers added more DAM capabilities or I became more aware of them. At the moment I just have to import the images into DT after editing a folder. For me it would be more convenient to have a tick box, but it is not a huge deal that this feature is not there.
