Thanks for pointing it out, I didn’t know that. Do you know the physics behind this recommendation? If focus distance effects the distortion, shouldn’t we calibrate also for different focus planes?
I calibrated the lens for a Canon SX710HS (with CHDK’s firmware) using the paper method, and results were pretty satisfying from what I could tell, but I guess it was not perfect.
