Hello, I wrote some articles about how to make your own G’MIC filters for GIMP. Part I and II describe the very basics, part III regroups some of the existing sharpness filter into an new filter with less functionality. This can be helpful to quickly compare the effects of different sharpness filters, see accompying screenshot. I did the same with some blur filters. If interested, download the code in the article and paste that in your .gmic file. After a reload you can use this filter (so no programming needed).
