Hello everyone. I just updated darktable to version 4.4.1. Both on Ubuntu and Windows.
It seems to me that there is no Italian translation of the interface. Do I have to wait for a new update or do I need to install something? Thank you very much.

Ciao, @ezio,
I believe that Italian was added two weeks ago
to the github version…

It seems the italian translation isn’t complete - so best solution is to help completing it so it can be part of a next release:
Hi! I tried to follow the manual here Translating darktable · darktable-org/darktable Wiki · GitHub to help the italian translation. But when I run the intltool-update -pot
command, I get this error:
can't open ./../build/share/darktable/org.darktable.darktable.desktop.in: No such file or directory at /opt/homebrew/bin/intltool-extract line 212.
Maybe I should compile the project before running this?
better use the alternative way …
Hi everyone,
thanks to the indications found in this post I managed to translate Darktable 4.4.2 flatpak version for Linux Mint into Italian.
Operations done:
- downloaded it.po file from https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/tree/master/po
- conversion from it.po file to it.mo with online converter (https://po2mo.net/)
- renamed file from it.mo to darktable.mo
- copied file to folder /var/lib/flatpak/app/org.darktable.Darktable/current/active/files/share/locale/it_it/LC_MESSAGES/darktable.mo
Darktable 4.4.2 now speaks Italian!
Thanks so much again and sorry for my bad English.
N.b.: for Italians you can find the instructions in the Gimp Italia forum
Editing flatpak files should be considered temporary, as that file will be overwritten on the next update.
