– or (to simplify …) let it just be the prerogative of those who do all the work to produce a new version (-- similar to the photo heading each release note that, from the copyright notice, seems to be one Pascal picks from his own archive – well deserved)
EDIT: On my laptop DT loads so fast that I anyhow don’t see the “flash” screen for more than one second, hardly enough to register what is there.
Details, details…
A photo in a splash screen might be redundant, like flowers, painted on a vase. And it would show up every damn time, when one launches the program to edit a completely different image.
I’ve made the Devs aware of this thread. I’ll leave it in the lap of the C Gods
It could be a photo of a table in the dark.
Or a photo from a Play Raw done in dt.
Personally, I don’t like splash screens.
It’s pretty common for most editing programs to have a photo or artwork on the splash loading screen and one that changes with each version. I think it would be a nice addition to Darktable.
I don’t know guys, I think I’m fighting a losing battle over here :
It happens, thank you for floating the idea!
darktable can afford looking different than most editing programs, as it can afford ignoring my wishes.
Have a good day!
