This works fine….:blush::blush: I don’t understand why this has not been an issue on previous releases?

It has been known for at least two years but I actually don’t remember the lightshow when I started using dt a couple of years ago on windows. I think if no lua scripts are enabled there will be no popups. Before 5.6 you had to enable lua scripts manually and since 5.6 they come bundled which maybe causes the change in behaviour from your perspective.

I have no luascripts, but have the issue.

Just annoying on startup

Im just going to wait for 5.8 to come out in December to reslove

That may be the cause:
Pre 5.6: If you dont manually install the lua scripts, you have no lua scripts
Post 5.6: Lua scripts are bundled, the script manager always loads and - as far as I know - causes a bunch of windows terminal window hubbub :wink: .

Thank you for the response. You can disable Lua scripts in preferences and avoid the pup ups when starting Darktable the normal way…

Yup, That might be it. I always download the install files from the darktable web site for windows 11, and I do not have or use any lua scripts. My editing is very basic. Hopefully this information helps to resolve.

Like I mentioned, my editing is pretty basic so I was not familiar with disabling lua scripts in preference. I will try that later.

That did it. Disabling luascripts does away with the popups when starting up darktable.

Still looking forward to 5.8!
