That’s the point, combined with DRO there are a lot of good photos, which you do not want to edit normally as a “standard” person.
The easiest thing would be to check the exposure before taking the shot. I played a little bit with the palm photos to get underexposed photos. A little bit moving the phone and the exposure was fine.
